Mont Prophet Elijah is the highest peak on the island. It is 567 meters above sea level and, together with Mesa Vounos, Gavrilos Hill (Emporios), and Monolithos Rock, form the pre-volcanic segment of Santorini. At its top, the Prophet Ilias Monastery (or the Prophet Elijah), is one of the oldest and most important Orthodox landmarks of the island.
